Junior Screen Acting

Ages 7 – 12 yrs

 

Filmbites SHORT STUFF, BEGINNER AND INTERMEDIATE acting courses focus on introducing and developing fundamental acting techniques in a fun and nurturing environment.

Along with the basics of drama, they’ll be learning essential ‘soft skills’ and screen acting techniques for a future in acting such as;

  • listening
  • creativity
  • teamwork and
  • focus.

Students progress through a new curriculum each term and put their skills to practice by filming a short film in Term 4.

Students can join these classes up to week 3 in each term excluding Term 4, and subject to availability.

Your tuition fee includes a copy of the end-of-year film and a complimentary student ticket to the Premiere Night screening at Luna Cinemas Leederville, held in March of the following year.

SHORT STUFF

Ages 7 & 8 yrs

This acting course for younger students uses play-based activities and simple actor exercises. The aim is to build confidence and encourage “naturalistic acting.” Students are also taught fundamentals with screen acting tips to develop confidence in voice, movement and understanding “story.”

BEGINNER

Ages 9 – 11 yrs

Start with foundational acting skills including confidence and communication, processes to build character, line delivery plus acting terminology and basic technical skills.

INTERMEDIATE

Ages 12+

The Intermediate screen acting course enhances improvisation skills, script interpretation, scene creation, and physicality.

Junior Professionals

ACTORS 9-12 INTERESTED IN PROFESSIONAL TRAINING

is targeted towards young actors (aged 9-12) who have strong acting ability and the capacity to work professionally in the industry and be cast in professional projects – national and international TV and film.

Recieve specialised training from our advanced acting teachers, work with industry directors and prepare for industry level auditions. 

JUNIOR PROFESSIONALS

Actors Aged 9 to 13 yrs

For talented young actors too young for advanced courses, this course introduces intermediate and advanced tools and techniques in improvisation and script.

Senior Screen Acting

Ages 14 – 18 yrs

These levels are for students serious about their acting, either professionally or for creative fulfillment.

From Industry, Advanced and Intensive our classes become more industry-focused for those interested in an acting career.

To maximise learning for themselves and the rest of the class, students must join by Week 3 of Term 1. Students joining these courses later in the year may be asked to participate in some 1 on 1 training with our head acting coach Shanta Surendran to ensure they are feeling confident and comfortable with the course curriculum, and do not suffer from enrolling late.

INDUSTRY

Actors Aged 14+

This course includes is for the career-focused young actor, running through the ins-and-outs of the industry, audition skills, and everything else you’ll need to know as a working actor.

ADVANCED

Actors Aged 15+

Introduces aspects of method techniques drawn from Strasberg, Adler, Alfreds and Moss, including inner dialogue, sensory work, physical stimuli, imagination, actions and objectives, justification and specificity.

INTENSIVE

Actors Aged 16+

Introduces techniques drawn from Guskin, Meisner and Leigh, plus development of self-awarenesss and personal acting process.
